The kimono I got from a vintage shop, it’s metallic and has iridescent colours, of turquoise and purple through it. It had a matching vest top, that I gave to a friend.  That would probably been a bit much. The H&M dress is simple black cotton/lycra, it’s basically a long-line vest top. The necklace is a silver ‘Whisky’ decanter label that I attached to a silver chain, the rings are collected from all over. The metallic TS socks mirror slightly the shininess of the kimono and the burnt-orange of the KG sandals give the outfit a shot of colour.

Hey All,

I just thought I’d post a couple of pics from a night out in town last week; I’d met my friend at BT’s and loved the gold window Louis Vuitton display. But this is about the trousers, they are possibly the best bargain I’ve ever found. Celine… €7, I thank you. Just to balance out the glamour, I styled them with Penney’s / Primark wedges and an H&M top. They’re definitely my favourite thing in the wardrobe right now and I’m delighted that we’re heading into Autumn. I won’t be wearing them too much this year; pale trousers and Dublin rain are not the best of friends, but they’re classic enough that I’ll be able to wear them next spring/summer instead.

Blouses and skirts have not really been the first fashion choice of a lot of women over the last few years or so. I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for them, especially sheer blouses because they are so feminine and quite grown-up sexy. I saw this one last week and loved the cut-out lace panels down the sleeves and the back of the blouse. I was tempted to add some fake spectacles to the look but at that stage it would have been bordering on fancy dress! I know it’s spring and I should be thinking florals and nudes but, that would be boring, no?

I’m reading the Philip Norman biography on the Rolling Stones and it’s keeping my obsession with their style and that of their girlfriends’ piqued to say the least. This coat was my mother’s and she wore it to a Rolling Stones gig in America when it was new. The shoes are a little later and are nearly impossible to walk in but if I keep to the flat pavements and stay away from the cobbles I can just about manage!
